一些神在我生命那個時期裡的偉大目的;
那時我惱怒、不耐煩,總是在尋找逃脫的方法;
在其中我想做這、做那,並成為這個、那個;
Go back to the place where, for the time being,
the Lord has put you, where He has called you
to live your life and do your work in all the trial
and difficulty and suffering of it, and do not strain
to get out of it. Do not lose the present value of it
by always living mentally or hopefully in a time
when you will be out of it, but go back there
and recognize that if you are the Lord‵s,
if you love God and are called according to purpose,
God is seeking to do something with you and in you
by means of the conditions of your present situation.
You will only defeat God‵s end if you try to get out, and
will fail to recognize and accept what He is seeking to do.
I can think of few things more regrettable and
grievous than that we should look back upon
any part of our life and have to say, "I might
have realized some great purpose of God
in that period of my life if only I had taken
another attitude toward it than the one I did take;
I was chafing, impatient, all the time looking for
a way of escape; I was rebellious, living in
another mental world of my own creating,
in which I would do and be this and that;
and I missed all that God intended at that time."
I say, there can be few things more grievous than that.
So we must go back to the sphere and conditions in which
the Lord has placed us, with this attitude – God has a thought
which relates to me as one of His Own; and that thought is,
that through the conditions and sufferings of my life
He should develop in me the features of His Son.
On the one hand, the features of the old creation
may be seen to be more and more terrible and horrible,
as I recognize them in myself; but over against that
God is doing something which is other than myself, not me at all.
He is bringing into being Another, altogether other, and that is His Son.

1. 我靈鎮靜!上主今在你旁;
憂痛十架,你要忍耐擔當;
信靠天父,為你安排主張;
萬變之中,惟主信實永長;
2. 我靈鎮靜!一切主必擔當;
未來引導,仍似過去一樣;
莫讓何事動搖希望信仰;
目前奧秘,日後必成光明;
3. 我靈鎮靜!光陰如飛過去;
那日與主,永遠同在一處;
失望,驚慌,那日都要消除;
重享真愛,忘記一切愁煩;
我靈鎮靜!那日眼淚抹乾;
Hymn: Be Still My Soul
Author: Kathrina von Schlegel (1697-1768)
1. Be still, my soul: the Lord is on thy side;
Bear patiently the cross of grief or pain;
Leave to thy God to order and provide;
In every change He faithful will remain.
Be still, my soul: thy best, thy heavenly Friend
Through thorny ways leads to a joyful end.
2. Be still, my soul: thy God doth undertake
To guide the future as He has the past.
Thy hope, thy confidence, let nothing shake;
All now mysterious shall be bright at last.
Be still, my soul: the waves and winds still know
His voice who ruled them while He dwelt below.
3. Be still, my soul: the hour is hastening on
When we shall be forever with the Lord,
When disappointment, grief, and fear are gone,
Sorrow forgot, love’s purest joys restored.
Be still, my soul: when change and tears are past,
All safe and blessed we shall meet at last.

The problem with too many of us is that
we have grown old without growing up -
we still need to be weaned.
The weaning process is important.
God’s goal for your life is maturity,
and His method for maturity is weaning.
He has to wean us away from things
we think are important.
God has to wean us away from
the things of the world, from
the cheap toys that we hold on to.
He wants to give us the best, and
His desire in weaning is our submission.
The weaned child was not losing; he was gaining.
He was moving out into a larger life. Likewise,
God has to take things away from our lives,
not because they are bad, but because
they are keeping us from the best.
The next time you whimper and cry
because God takes something away from you,
remember: He might be weaning you.
He might be saying, “Get closer to Me.
Step out into a life of maturity and let’s go together.”
God wants His children to grow into mature believers
and eventually to become like His Son.
When He decides to wean you from something in your life,
be an obedient child. Let Him prepare you and
develop you for what He has in store for you.

1. 我們不會疲倦不唱這首舊詩章;
我們聲浪依舊,信心比前更堅強;
2. 我們浸沉在那救贖大愛、極樂中;
我們心中樂極有如插翅上高空;
3. 我們所去之地乃是精金所建造;
那裏,我可面見我王所有的光耀;
4. 那裏,我們要藉新詩喊出救贖恩;
那裏,我們要同眾聖擁擠耶穌身;
Hymn: Glory to God, Hallelujah
Author: Fanny J. Crosby (1820-1915)
1. We are never, never weary of the grand old song;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
We can sing it loud as ever, with our faith more strong;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
Refrain:
O, the children of the Lord have a right to shout and sing,
For the way is growing bright, and our souls are on the wing;
We are going by and by to the palace of a King!
Glory to God, hallelujah!
2. We are lost amid the rapture of redeeming love
Glory to God, hallelujah!
We are rising on its pinions to the hills above:
Glory to God, hallelujah!
3. We are going to a palace that is built of gold;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
Where the King in all His splendor we shall soon behold
Glory to God, hallelujah!
4. There we’ll shout redeeming mercy in a glad, new song;
Glory to God, hallelujah!
There we’ll sing the praise of Jesus with the blood washed throng;
Glory to God, hallelujah!

然而,祂一直是真實的;
Our unbelief is the greatest hindrance in our way;
in fact, there is no other real difficulty as to
our spiritual progress and prosperity.
The Lord can do everything;
but when He makes a rule that
according to our faith
so shall it be unto us,
our unbelief ties the hands
of His omnipotence.
Yes, the confederacies of evil
shall be scattered if we can but believe.
Despised truth shall lift its head if we will but
have confidence in the God of truth.
We can bear our load of trouble or pass
uninjured through the waves of distress
if we can gird our loins with the girdle of peace,
that girdle which is buckled on by the hands of trust.
What can we not believe?
Is everything possible
except believing in God?
Yet He is always true;
why do we not believe in Him?
He is always faithful to His word;
why can we not trust Him?
When we are in a right state of heart,
faith costs no effort: it is then as natural
for us to rely upon God as for
a child to trust his father.
The worst of it is that we can believe God
about everything except the present pressing trial.
This is folly. Come, my soul, shake off such sinfulness,
and trust thy God with the load, the labor,
the longing of this present. This done, all is done.

Hymn: My Song is Love Unknown
Author: Samuel Crossman (1623-1683)
1. My song is love unknown,
My Savior’s love to me,
Love to the loveless shown,
That they might lovely be.
Oh, who am I, that for my sake
My Lord should take frail flesh and die?
2. He came from His blest throne
Salvation to bestow;
But men made strange, and none
The longed-for Christ would know.
But, oh, my friend, my friend indeed,
Who at my need his life did spend;
3. Sometimes they strew His way
And his sweet praises sing;
Resounding all the day
Hosannas to their King.
Then “Crucify!” is all their breath,
And for his death they thirst and cry.
4. Why, what hath my Lord done?
What makes this rage and spite?
He made the lame to run,
He gave the blind their sight.
Sweet injuries! Yet they at these
Themselves displease, and ‵gainst him rise;
5. They rise, and needs will have
My dear Lord made away;
A murderer they save,
The prince of life they slay.
Yet cheerful he to suff‵ring goes,
That he his foes from thence might free.
6. In life no house, no home
My Lord on earth might have;
In death, no friendly tomb
But what a stranger gave.
What my I say? Heav‵n was his home;
But mine the tomb wherein he lay.
7. Here might I stay and sing -
No story so divine!
Never was love, dear King,
Never was grief like thine.
This is my friend, in whose sweet praise
I all my days could gladly spend!

神需要敬拜者優先於工人;
聖靈一定願意給予服事的能力和恩賜;
To teach that the filling with the Holy Spirit is given
the Christian to provide "power for service"
is to teach truth, but not the whole truth!
Power for service is but one effect of
the experience, and I do not hesitate to say
that it is the least of several effects.
Contrary to the popular belief,
"to serve this present age" is not
the Christian‵s first duty
nor the chief end of man.
The primary work of the Holy Spirit is to restore
the lost soul to intimate fellowship with God through
the washing of regeneration. To accomplish this
He first reveals Christ to the penitent heart. He then
goes on to illuminate the newborn soul with brighter rays
from the face of Christ and leads the willing heart into
depths and heights of divine knowledge and communion.
God wants worshipers before workers;
indeed the only acceptable workers are those
who have learned the lost art of worship.
It is inconceivable that a sovereign and holy God
should be so hard up for workers that He would
press into service anyone who had been empowered
regardless of his moral qualifications.
The very stones would praise Him if the need arose and
a thousand legions of angels would leap to do His will!
Gifts and power for service
the Spirit surely desires to impart;
but holiness and spiritual worship come first!
