在歲末年終，願我們帶著謙卑的心，檢視過去的一年，並靠著主的恩典，以信心來展望新的年度，忘記背後、努力面前。

耶和華也必時常引導你、在乾旱之地使你心滿意足、骨頭強壯，你必像澆灌的園子、又像水流不絕的泉源。(以賽亞書58:11)

當我們年輕時，常希望時間能走得快一點。當我們更年長一些，就想讓時間慢下來。而歲末年終可以是一段苦樂參半的省思時刻。當我們檢視過去的十二個月，我們可能從所完成、實現的事物中，得到很大的滿足感。或者我們也可能帶著遺憾、懊悔，回想起那些錯失的機會和失敗。有些歲月，帶來了難以置信的歡樂，在回憶重溫時，仍是令人激動興奮。但其他的歲月，則以悲劇，留下了痕跡，而這些歲月像是汙點，我們只想儘快忘掉。

When we are young, we often wish time would go by faster. As we get older, we‵d love to slow down the clock. The end of a year can be a bittersweet time. As we survey the past twelve months, we may draw immense satisfaction from all we have achieved, or we may look back with regret at missed opportunities and failures. Some years bring incredible joy that is exciting to recall and relive. Other years are marked by tragedy; these years are black spots that we‵d just as soon forget.

God is a God of grace. He is a God of new beginnings. If you have regrets about this past year, give them to God. Ask his forgiveness for the ways you have failed him. Be encouraged, for a new year is beginning—a year filled with new opportunities to love God, to honor him, and to serve him faithfully. Be encouraged because you serve a powerful Savior. He can bring about changes in your life that you never dreamed were possible. Be encouraged because God loves you, and you are not going into the new year alone. Look forward to the exciting adventures God has in store for you as you experience him day by day.
