我們與世俗為友;我們成為被世界玷污的;

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel
of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners,
nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
But his delight is in the law of the Lord;
and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

God wants to bless His people. He wants them to be
recipients and channels of blessing. God blesses us
to make us a blessing to others, but He has given us
certain conditions for receiving blessings.

First, we must be separated from the world.
The world is anything that separates us from God
or causes us to disobey Him. Separation is not isolation
but contact without contamination. Sin is usually
a gradual process. Notice the gradual decline of
the sinner. He is walking, standing and then sitting.
Becoming worldly is progressive; it happens
by degrees. We make friends with the world;
we become spotted by the world;
we love the world, become conformed to it
and end up condemned with it. Lot is an
example of someone who became worldly.
He looked toward Sodom, pitched his tent
toward Sodom, lived there,
lost everything and ended in sin.

Second, we must be saturated with the Word.
Whatever delights us directs us.
We saturate ourselves with the Word by
meditating on it. Meditation is to the spirit
what digestion is to the body.
When we meditate on the Word,
we allow the Spirit of God within us
to digest the Word of God for us.
So not only do we delight in the Word,
it becomes a source of spiritual nourishment for us.

God desires to bless us, but we must meet
His conditions for receiving blessings.
By staying separate from the world and
keeping saturated in the Word,
we may expect God‵s blessings.
Resolve to meditate on the Word of God
and obey it. He will make you
a blessing to others.

Hymn: There Is Power in the Blood
Author: Lewis E. Jones (1865-1936)

1. Would you be free from the burden of sin?
There‵s pow‵r in the blood, pow‵r in the blood;
Would you o‵er evil a victory win?
There‵s wonderful pow‵r in the blood.

Refrain:
There is pow‵r, pow‵r, wonder-working pow‵r
In the blood of the Lamb;
There is pow‵r, pow‵r, wonder-working pow‵r
In the precious blood of the Lamb.

2. Would you be free from your passion and pride?
There‵s pow‵r in the blood, pow‵r in the blood;
Come for a cleansing to Calvary‵s tide–
There‵s wonderful pow‵r in the blood.

3. Would you be whiter, yes brighter than snow?
There‵s pow‵r in the blood, pow‵r in the blood;
Sin-stains are lost in its life-giving flow–
There‵s wonderful pow‵r in the blood.

4. Would you do service for Jesus, your King?
There‵s pow‵r in the blood, pow‵r in the blood;
Would you live daily His praises to sing?
There‵s wonderful pow‵r in the blood.

我需要忠告和建議;

Thou shalt guide me with Thy counsel,
and afterward receive me to glory.

From day to day and from year to year my faith
believes in the wisdom and love of God,
and I know that I shall not believe in vain.
No good word of His has ever failed, and I am
sure that none shall ever fall to the ground.

I put myself into His hand for guidance.
I know not the way that I should choose:
the Lord shall choose mine inheritance
for me. I need counsel and advice; for
my duties are intricate, and my condition
is involved. I seek to the Lord, as the High
Priest of old looked to his Urim and Thummim.
The counsel of the infallible God I seek
in preference to my own judgment
or the advice of friends.
Glorious Jehovah, Thou shalt guide me!

Soon the end will come: a few more years,
and I must depart out of this world unto
the Father. My Lord will be near my bed.
He will meet me at heaven’s gate:
He will welcome me to the glory-land.
I shall not be a stranger in heaven:
my own God and Father will receive me
to its endless bliss.

Glory to Him who will guide me here,
and receive me hereafter. Amen.

Hymn: Love Lifted Me
Author: James Rowe (1865-1933)

1. I was sinking deep in sin,
Far from the peaceful shore,
Very deeply stained within,
Sinking to rise no more;
But the Master of the sea
Heard my despairing cry,
From the waters lifted me -
Now safe am I.

Refrein:
Love lifted me,
Love lifted me,
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me;
Love lifted me,
Love lifted me,
When nothing else could help,
Love lifted me.

2. All my heart to Him I give,
Ever to Him I’ll cling,
In His blessed presence live,
Ever His praises sing.
Love so mighty and so true
Merits my soul’s best songs;
Faithful, loving service, too,
To Him belongs.

3. Souls in danger, look above,
Jesus completely saves;
He will lift you by His love
Out of the angry waves.
He’s the Master of the sea,
Billows His will obey;
He your Savior wants to be -
Be saved today.

凡有血氣的都當在耶和華面前靜默無聲;

創造本身就興起於頌歌聲之中;

起初可能會有滔滔不絕的讚美;

Be silent, O all flesh, before the Lord:
for he is raised up out of his holy habitation.

There is a notion widely held among Christians that
song is the highest possible expression of the joy
of the Lord in the soul of a man or woman.
That idea is so near to being true that
it may seem spiritually rude to challenge it.
However, it does need to be brought to the test
of the Scriptures and Christian testimony.

Both the Bible and the testimony of a thousand saints
show that there is experience beyond song.
There are delights which the heart may enjoy
in the awesome presence of God which cannot
find expression in language: they belong to the
unutterable elements in Christian experience.
Not many enjoy them because not many know that they can.

The whole concept of ineffable worship has been lost
to this generation of Christians. Our level of life is
so low that no one expects to know the deep things of
the soul until the Lord returns. So, we cheer ourselves
by breaking into song. Far be it from me to discourage
the art of singing. Creation itself took its rise
in a burst of song; Christ rose from the dead
and sang among His brethren.
But still there is somethingbeyond song!

When the Holy Spirit is permitted to exercise
His full sway in a redeemed heart
there will likely be voluble praise first;
then, when the crescendo rises beyond
the ability of studied speech to express,
comes song. When song breaks down under
the weight of glory, then comes silence
where the soul, held indeep fascination,
feels itself blessed with an unutterable beatitude!

Hymn: Jesus, Lover of My Soul
Author: Charles Wesley (1707-1788)

1. Jesus, lover of my soul,
Let to thy bosom fly,
While nearer waters roll,
While the tempest still is high.
Hide me, oh my Savior, hide,
Till the storm of life is past,
Safe into the haven guide
Oh receive my soul at last.

2. Other refuge have I none,
Hangs helpless soul on thee‵
Leave, ah! Leave me not alone,
Still support and comfort me.
All my trust on thee is stayed,
All my help from thee I bring,
Cover my defenseless head
With the shadow of they wing.

3. Thou, oh Christ art all I want;
More than all in thee I fine;
Raise the fallen, cheer the faint,
Heal the sick and lead the blind.
Just and holy is thy name;
I am all unrighteousness;
False and full of sin I am,
Thou art full of truth and grace.

4. Plenteous grace witth theee is found
Grace to cover all my sin;
Let the healing streams abound;
Make and keep me pure within:
Thou of life the fountain art,
Freely let me take of thee;
Spring thou up within my heart,
Me to eternity.

Take no thought for your life.

A warning which needs to be reiterated is that the cares of
this world, the deceitfulness of riches, and the lust of
other things entering in, will choke all that God puts in.
We are never free from the recurring tides of this encroachment.
If it does not come on the line of clothes and food,
it will come on the line of money or lack of money;
of friends or lack of friends; or on the line of difficult
circumstances. It is one steady encroachment all the time,
and unless we allow the Spirit of God to raise up
the standard against it, these things will come in like a flood.

‘Be careful about one thing only,’ says our Lord—
‘your relationship to Me.’ Common sense shouts loud
and says—‘That is absurd, I must consider how
I am going to live, I must consider what I am going
to eat and drink.’ Jesus says you must not.

Beware of allowing the thought that this statement
is made by One Who does not understand
our particular circumstances. Jesus Christ knows
our circumstances better than we do, and
He says we must not think about these things
so as to make them the one concern of our life.
Whenever there is competition, be sure that
you put your relationship to God first.

(Oswald Chambers, 1874-1917)
